VCL Pick of the Day
chmarr
Well, this is three days in a row that I've kept the PotD going... is this a record? :) There were several nice candidates today, but I said I'd choose just one. The one that grabbed my eye the most was this piece by Nathalie Jean-Bart:

I really like the use of limited colour, and the way the sunbeam illuminates the characters, and creates its own shadow. The characterisation of the two wolves, as well as the scene itself, is very nice. The sunbeam, while being a neat idea I've seen used rarely, could have been executed a little better by being more complete over the image. But... still cool.

The most detracting thing about this image is the nasty red signature. I can appreciate the need for people wanting to 'mar' their images slightly, but I'm sure something could have been done that was just as 'secure' without being so distracting. Ah well, time to educate the masses, again :)

Nathalie's other work is worth looking at too. There's some mild animalistic nudity in there, so be warned.

:-P (I just found your entry and your livejournal with a bit of lateness), I make more discreet watermarks now :)
